Address:

141 Franklin St
Stamford
06901

Mission Statement:

ECPSC’s mission is to stop the cycle of child abuse by strengthening the family through home-based intervention programs designed to improve dysfunctional communications and behaviors that lead to abuse and provide access to basic needs and community resources given 97% of the population we serve is under the poverty line. Unlike other agencies we have no filtering criteria for the families we work with other than they need our help. We have a high rate of referrals from government agencies like DCF, reflecting their inability to provide a social safety net for the most at risk families in our community. These agencies and other institutions, including courts and schools, refer to us because we have a high rate of success in keeping the family intact and significantly improving how the family communicates and functions

Agency Details

Exchange Club Parenting Skills Center
Exchange Club Parenting Skills Center (ECPSC) was founded in 1989 through the collaboration of CT Department of Children & Families(DCF), local agencies, law enforcement, courts, medical professionals, community members and the Exchange Clubs of Connecticut. These Exchange Clubs are chartered nationwide by the National Exchange Club, the oldest service organization in the country. More than 650 local Exchange Clubs with over 20,000 members are located in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The focus of the National Exchange Club is to strengthen families and communities through child abuse prevention. PSC is an accredited agency in a 70+ member collaborative of child abused prevention agencies nationwide that use the National Exchange model. That collaborative was founded in 1979 and offers technical support, annual symposium training, and mandates accreditation using the National Exchange Club’s Standards of Operations and Practice.
