Welcome to the website of Volunteer Square, Inc.  We care about your privacy.   This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and disclose personal information of registered users (you or your child).  For the purpose of this Policy, "Information" means any information that may identify or allow someone to contact a registered user, such as name and email address, and other material such as volunteer interests and skills and information derived from cookies, when that material is associated with information that may identify the user.


During your registration, we collect the following Information in order to match the volunteer needs of nonprofits with prospective volunteers ("volunteer matching"): Name, email address, volunteer interests, volunteer skills, and in the case of a child under thirteen, the parent's email address.  If you are contributing to Volunteer Square, Inc. we collect: Name; information about your credit card or other payment method; billing address; email address; home phone number; and related information needed to process a payment.  

In addition, we use technology such as cookies to collect information that is not personally identifiable to help us improve our website or volunteer matching program.


We use Information to process donations and to give local and regional nonprofit organizations the ability to identify and contact registered users who are prospective volunteers. We also may use Information to send you materials about Volunteer Square's activities, answer your emails, administer the website and the volunteer matching, and for other purposes we inform you about when Information is collected.  Other than as described here, without your consent we will not use Information collected on this website in a way that's materially different than that described when we collected the Information.

We disclose the Information of registered users to nonprofit organizations who have signed up for volunteer matching.  We require that nonprofit organizations seeking volunteers through us maintain the confidentiality and security of Information they receive. We note that each organization has its own policy about handling Information and, apart from our requirement about their handling of Information, we are not responsible for their use of your Information.  We disclose Information to issuers of credit cards or other payment method for those people who make online donations to us. 

We may disclose Information at the request of government agencies or when we are required to do so by law, such as in response to a court order or a subpoena. We also disclose Information to service providers or volunteers who support the operation of our website or volunteer matching. If we sell or transfer all or a part of our business, we may transfer Information to the other party to that  transaction, if permitted by law. We may disclose information that is not personally identifiable, such as aggregated user statistics, to third parties.

If you do not want any Information about you or your child under thirteen to be disclosed to nonprofit organizations, please do not provide or allow your child to provide it to us. 


In the registration process, we will ask a user whether he or she is under thirteen years of age.  If the user replies that he or she is under thirteen,  before that child can register we will seek the parent's approval by email to collect and use Information that the child will be asked to supply in registering.  We do not collect more information than is reasonably necessary to carry out volunteer matching. We encourage you to review the child's Information as he or she registers with us.  Resources are available to help your child have rewarding and safe online activity.  Consult sites such as or for aids to parents of young internet users.


Contact to review, correct, or revoke your consent for us to use your or your child's Information, or to ask us to delete the Information. If you revoke your consent, you or your child will no longer be able to participate in volunteer matching. Both of you will continue to be able to browse parts of the website open to all users.

This website contains links to other sites. Volunteer Square, Inc. is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those other sites.

We have implemented reasonable safeguards to help protect your Information. Please be aware that no data transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We don't warrant the security of Information you provide to us, and you register and provide us with your Information at your own risk.
We may change this Privacy Policy at any time; the changes will take effect when we post them on our website.
