What we are looking for:
Purpose 90% of the support that the Red Cross delivers is done by volunteers. As a member of the Volunteer Recruitment team you will help to build up a workforce of talented volunteers by assisting with designed recruitment initiatives, advertisement of volunteer opportunities and representing the Red Cross at community and recruitment events. This is a great opportunity to work at the heart of the Red Cross and support our teams on a regional level. Responsibilities Position requires travel to team meetings. Community fairs may require travel, however, most work can be done remotely. As a Volunteer Recruitment Team Member, you will assist with developing and implementing strategies to recruit new volunteers. This includes tasks such as; contacting prospective agencies through phone calls, representing the Red Cross at recruitment events and in the community, researching and developing a strategic database of community partners. Time Commitment A minimum 5 hours a week is required. Post-training, most assignments can be completed remotely. Must be open to traveling to community and recruitment fairs. Weekday time availability required for most fairs. Qualifications Ability to relate to people from varied cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.' Must be comfortable on the phone. Strong organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently in a multi-tasked environment. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and the internet (internet is a must.) Self-motivated to complete task. Requirements Volunteer Connection Administrative training (3 hours) On-the-job training
