If you have not already done so, you can download our volunteer opportunities brochure at the following link: http://www.maritimeaquarium.org/volunteer The minimum age for all prospective volunteers is 15. A $40 fee is required to enroll in the volunteer training course. This fee defrays the direct costs of uniforms, insurance, and training materials. All prospective volunteer and paid staff are required to fill out a background check form, which requires a valid US Social Security number. Please bring your social security number with you to the interview session to expedite the process. The minimum time commitment required from volunteers is 100 hours, at four hours per week for weekday volunteers and four hours per month for weekend staff. Some weekday, weekend, and holiday availability is required. After successful completion of the 20 hour training course, a uniform polo shirt and name badge will be issued to graduates to be worn while on duty. Letters of recommendation, and other service award forms will be signed by our staff at the completion of the 100 hours of service.
