Family Reentry Youth Programs
Mentoring, Youth Development
What we are looking for:
Family Reentry's J-Connect Mentor Program serves youth at-risk for problem behaviors or delinquency. These teens range in age from 11-18 and are in need of a positive role model to help support prosocial connections. Adult mentors meet weekly with their mentee afterschool or on weekends, as mutually determined by both the mentee and mentor's schedule. Volunteer time commitment is approximately 2 hours each week. Consistent mentor visits provide a positive adult-teen relationship which helps to foster resiliency in vulnerable youth. Volunteer Mentors serving in the J-Connect Program must be age 21 or older and be comfortable transporting a teen on visit outings. Mentors complete an initial application and receive a 2-3 hour training provided by Family Reentry Youth Staff at the Bridgeport Office: 75 Washington Avenue. Match support is provided to all mentors throughout the length of the match, offering guidance and direction as needed. Think about how you can help make a difference by mentoring a local youth in need! Please contact today! Jenna Cappellieri: firstname.lastname@example.org or 203.290.0863
