The Westport Historical Society is an educational organization which aims to celebrate and preserve local history. The society provides an important connection between residents and the community, and is an excellent place to volunteer for those interested to history and dedicated to local culture.
As the society relies on volunteer for a wide variety of events and functions, there are a seemingly endless amount of oppertunities to choose from. Anyone who enjoys finance or management may to volunteer in development & fundraising or in marketing & communications. Those who like history can choose to become curatorial assistants, re-enactors, or teaching assistants. There are also gardening and memorial day parade projects that require many volunteers willing to work hands-on.
