Wakeman Outreach at McKinley: Great Futures Mentoring

Great Futures Mentoring is a program that involves mentoring students at McKinley Elementary School through the Wakeman Boys and Girs Club. It encourages teenagers from grades 10-12 to mentor children in grades 3-5 one on one for 2 hours a week. Mentoring includes helping them with homework, and playing games, crafts or sports with them. Volunteer hours are available from 2:45 to 4:45 on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays and volunteers must attend the same day weekly and are expected to commit to at least two seasons. To register, visit the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club website and fill out the volunteer questionnaire or call the McKinley Outreach Extension at 203-259-4805.
