If you would like to expand your knowledge of public health, give back to your community, and interact with a new and exciting group of people, the Norwalk Health Department is perfect for you! There are two ways to get involved:
Emergency Response Team
- Norwalk Health Department Emergency Response Team (ERT) is a longer-term volunteer position and assists in responding to public health emergencies and with local programs. Responsibilities could include transporting and distributing vital medicines in a health emergency. ERT also educates the public on health preparedness and emergencies. The Health Department provides all necessary training, so a medical background is not required.
- If interested, contact Donna M. Schlegel, ERT Volunteer Coordinator, at email@example.com or (203) 854-7979.
Internships and General Volunteer Opportunities
- Another shorter option includes internships available to students looking for valuable experience and a launch pad for their career, mid-career professionals looking to further educate themselves on public health, or retired persons looking to extend their community outreach.
- If interested, contact Theresa Argondezzi, Health Educator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (203) 854-7977.
