Julianne Alberty has been named the new Executive Director of the Fairfield County Non-profit organization VolunteerSquare.com.
VolunteerSquare.com is a free community resource that links individuals interested in volunteering with current opportunities and information on local nonprofits. VolunteerSquare.com has made a significant impact on Connecticut communities by connecting countless individuals with local non-profit organizations.
Ms. Alberty joins VolunteerSquare.com from Lincoln Center Education, the cornerstone of Lincoln Center that provides world-class arts opportunities for life long learners. For the past four years, Ms. Alberty has managed Community and Family Programs at Lincoln Center. During this time she led the team that launched a family engagement initiative for families who wouldn’t otherwise have access to Lincoln Center, serving over 700 families in just two years. She established arts education residencies at domestic violence shelters and secure detention sites serving court involved youth, as well as managing Lincoln Center’s partnership with the New York City Administration for Children’s Services. Ms. Alberty has worked in both the arts and non-profit sectors for two decades. She brings expertise in community partnership development, non-profit management, and intergenerational programming.
“The need for and value of volunteers has never been greater given the financial challenges that CT non-profits are facing in the coming years. I look forward to learning more about each VolunteerSquare.com member organization’s unique needs and opportunities and to expanding the volunteer base to effectively match volunteers with agency partners. In an effort to encourage young people to be more involved in their communities I hope to strengthen and grow the youth volunteer base, as well as work with the organizational partners to create more youth volunteer opportunities.”
Having lived and worked in New York City for the past 19 years, Ms. Alberty and her family have recently relocated to Norwalk, CT. A native of Fairfield County, Ms. Alberty is thrilled to be back in CT and looks forward to developing and deepening her relationship with her own community, as well as making an impact on the surrounding communities through her work with VolunteerSquare.com.
