About Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut

Today, Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut working in partnership with 1,150 community and corporate volunteers provides empowering programs to 22,400 students across 20 towns. JA reaches four million students per year in 124 markets across the United States, with an additional six million students served by operations in 119 other countries worldwide.

Mission Statement

Junior Achievement (JA) is the world's largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. JA programs are delivered by corporate and community volunteers, and provide relevant, hands-on experiences that give students from kindergarten through high school knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. JA programs empower students to make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world – enhancing the relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the value of staying in school.
